Chinese Textiles and Embroidery: Selected Works from the Li Yulai Collection

中国传统织绣文化展——李雨来藏品撷珍

One hundred and seven objects were selected from the family collection and shown in two groups. The textiles included a Tang-dynasty samite with paired birds in pearl roundels, a Yuan-dynasty gold-brocaded silk with geometric patterning, a Ming-dynasty zhuanghua satin robe length with dragon motifs and a Ming-dynasty gold-brocaded silk with scrolling lotus. The costume section covered armour, chao robes, jifu robes, dragon surcoats, changyi robes, ritual robes and rank badges, setting out the range of Chinese weaving and embroidery across periods and uses.
