Gold-Brocaded Textile with Geometric Pattern
元代几何纹织金锦
Yuan gold-brocaded silks use gold generously within a strict geometric framework, and reflect the movement of weaving technology across Eurasia. Gold thread appears both as flat strips and as thread wrapped around a silk core; distinguishing the two under magnification helps locate where and how a textile was made. Shown at Donghua University in 2018.
