Chaofu Robe with Dragons and Clouds on a Dark Blue Ground

清代石青地云龙纹朝袍

The construction follows that of the yellow chaofu, with additional pleating in the skirt. Colour was strictly regulated: dark blue was the usual choice for officials, standing in deliberate contrast to yellow.
