Woman’s Chaogua (Sleeveless Court Surcoat)

清代石青地云龙纹朝褂

The chaogua is the sleeveless, front-opening surcoat worn over a woman’s court robe. Here, on a dark blue ground, ascending dragons occupy front and back above a wave-and-mountain border, the garment narrow at the shoulder and flaring towards the hem.
